XBOX Do Game Restarts Improve Performance

Playing on Xbox Series X, I notice the game runs very well at times while other times it really struggles to run.

I've experienced the game running better after a full console shutdown. I was wondering if simply restarting the game itself and not the console helps to improve performance at all? Thx.

Did you try?
In the past, yes. But I honestly can't say if I noticed any real, noticeable improvement.

The Xbox hardware is pretty fickle and has issues with performance not related to the game.

I'm more interested if the game was designed "on console" to benefit directly from a game restart. When you exit and restart the game, is cache emptied/flushed or something similar on console to help improve performance.

If it's true, I plan to play like 2 - 3 hour sessions in the future and restart to benefit from the performance boost. If it's not true, there's no point in restarting the game.

I would think that whether it is restarting your computer, phone, xbox, PS or any other electronics that requires a restart every now and then would help with performance to an extent. Like my router for example, I restart it every Sunday morning by unplugging it for 30 minutes. Same with my cellphone I restart it every week too.

Yeah, restarting especially on the xbox S can help after a few hours. I would do it after a few hours of heavy gameplay (lots of harder tier POIs, etc) after things have calmed down (like returning to base/home).

I was wondering about that because Xbox uses that "Quick Restore" feature that let's you pick up playing your game where you left off the next time you login.

I assume a feature like that needs to keep your game progress loaded in memory for extended time. I can easily see something like that causing sluggish gameplay over time.
