Things you would like that will never happen

Over the years I've been here, I've seen a wide variety of suggestions. Some are possible, some are unlikely, and some will obviously never happen. Often, these are in their own threads, but sometimes the unlikely or zero chance stuff gets mixed in with the possible stuff. That can muddy the water and make suggestions of things that are possible get lost among things that aren't.

So I thought I would try starting a thread to post all of the crazy and insane and wild ideas people can think of, along with anything that people would want that has a very low chance of happening.

So, in the spirit of this topic, we aren't talking about things like being able to disable bandits when they are added. That has a good chance of being added. Something like bringing back jars or LBD are fair game. But I would also like to see what crazy stuff people can come up with and not just wishes for the return of "the good old days."

Let's have fun with this. We should probably stick to suggestions that can make at least a little sense in this game (adding superheroes obviously doesn't, and although lightsabers would be a lot of fun, they really wouldn't fit this game), but can you get crazy?

Examples:

  • Add new player vehicle: helicopter. This is possible, but has a low chance and would be fun. It isn't crazy, but that is okay.
  • Add jetpacks. Very unlikely, can fit with this game, and would be fun.
  • Add a zombie clown car that uses minscript to make a lot of zombies pile out of it. Fun, fits the game, very unlikely.
  • Add zip lines. TFP looked into that and chose not to add them, but they would be fun.
  • Add murder rabbits. 😁

I'll add more of my own ideas later when I am not on my phone. What can you come up with?

This thread is mainly for fun. It is a way to get some crazy ideas even though they aren't likely to be in this game. And, who knows? Maybe the devs will see something they really like and add it either to this game or their next game. Or perhaps a modder will.

Let's try to stick to things that aren't likely and not start filling it up with "normal" suggestions. Have fun and go crazy! 🤪

1 Raw 2 layer, allowed easier grayscale import. into a world and rwg. That was the real
specialty about A17, as far as modding. Sarek.png a semi hidden subroutine in RWG.
2 An easy way to turn on the light editor in the base game.
3 Guppy's hang glider
4 Medieval Book's creeping Blight
5 Grappling hooks
6 1000 meter high elevation cap

  • Add murder rabbits. 😁
Great idea, I like it.

I want a generator to attract zombies from the area. I went into the city, set it up, turned it on, gathered it in a bunch, shot them and went for a quiet walk along the empty streets of the city.

A one-time device for calling an airdrop. I found it somewhere in the loot, activated it, and received an airdrop within a radius of 100 meters. The drops every 3 days exactly at 12-00 are a bit annoying, because I can be busy.

Pretty much anything I have suggested to-date on these forums. ;)

I like to see LBD return, something akin to the legacy armor system back, jars and organic water collecting, specialized crafting parts (item specific),maybe re add the NPCs (with better voice lines), and quality over 6. Ok, I'll take my dislikes now like everything else I've posted (I get that I'm never well liked in any online community)

Bicycle rickshaw/cargo bicycle, and/or vehicle trailer. I thoroughly love when bicycles are in games (feels stupidly rare to see), and the jankiness of Valheim's pull-cart is beautiful jank to me.
A trailer would be great, especially if you could attach vehicles. Drive a 4x4 with a trailer holding the motorcycle so you can then ride that around and aren't carrying it so you can RP it in a realistic way if you want.

Nothing wild, but still would be nice to see...
  • An RV vehicle.
  • Vehicle weapons.
  • Ability to add things like workstations to certain vehicles (an RV is a good option for that).
  • Animated aquarium for your base.
  • Arcade games/pinball machines for your base.
  • A variety of TV "stations" that act similar to radio broadcasts in a game like Fallout, but where you can see small clips of news reports about the apocalypse and throw in some humorous commercials from the traders for fun. Commercials could be a great way to add funny easter eggs or jokes. Let the TVs show this stuff in kind of a loop with static between as if it's replacing a section of show over and over. Different stations have different "shows."
  • Parachutes.
  • Hang gliders.
  • POI - Airport, Zoo, Aquarium, Museum, Planetarium, 4H Club fair/display kind of thing, Circus.
  • Working waterfalls.
  • Generated cave systems.
  • Holiday themed events using the event system. Other events as well.
  • Holiday themed decorations.
  • More (all) decorations available to be crafted. Also all doors and windows.
  • Block shapes to create domes.
  • More block shapes for making circles of more sizes than we have now.
  • Ability to set an offset to a block directly when placing it in the game instead of needing to create a custom block that has an offset.
  • Tool to adjust terrain block density in game so you can remove the gap around your base if you want.
  • Flatten tool in game that lets you flatten terrain to be at an integer elevation so you don't have to worry about things floating around your base and don't have to dig everything out to get it flat.
  • Powered sliding doors (vertical and horizontal sliding, as well as split doors where half slides to the right and half to the left).
  • Powered elevators.
  • CCTV screens that connect to any motion sensors you choose (within either the same electrical network or within a radius).
  • More traps, both powered and unpowered. They don't have to be powerful... just something for variety.

Wouldnt it be cool to have mutant-type enemys like in Sons of the Forest?
I have no idea abot the lore but would fit in the radiated zone.
I loooove this idea, I'd love to see them explore the wasteland more, we've already got those mutated spitter zombies which are awesome. Radiation has obviously done a lot to the world of 7DtD, I wonder what mad scientist monsters people would create in their basements during the apocalypse.

I've played on modded servers with much of your list but somehow I think a waterfall would be taxing for unity; especially if players start digging their own

this was back some 5 or 6 years ago back when I first started playing the game.
this was my sandbox of choice for nearly 10 years.... i think the mod was for a18? not sure i think you could tap int a turret or something remote but i don't remember if that was also a mod last mostly vanilla server i hosted was the one that had the foul mouth bandits i forget what version that was....... they were fun once you tweaked the xml

The only thing that I remember about it, was having a camera on the front and back of my base with a monitor for each, looking at the monitor and scoping for zombies, since it was nighttime and zombie ran at night. Had me a small, cubed temp base at an intersection near the stadium on the navezgane map. And pretty sure it was a vanilla game, because I don't use mods for any game.
