When did you start playing 7 Days to Die?

Around December 2019. The funny thing is that I stopped the bleeding before I made my first stone axe.1754636053246.png
I actually bought the game by accident. I was sitting with a friend, drinking beer, and I complained to him that I had nothing to play. He suggested playing the game he'd been playing for a week, so I bought it.

I started playing A15 at the end of December 2016. I had seen a few YouTube videos of a group of players. What attracted me most was the ability to reshape the terrain and build with individual blocks rather than entire segments, as in other games. I was a little lost at first because I had never played anything with shooter elements before. But little by little, I got the hang of it.

A7, I liked it because it made me cower in a house dreading night, because I had to, there was no just surviving the night visitors.
that's when I knew I would like it. Loved the grid especially after it starting having shaded guides, before that I couldn't make
anything. That. the sunset, Tim Burton houses, and the rabbit on a stick.

I purchased the game in 2015. I'm not sure if I started playing then or not though. I was interested in the game because it looked like the closest thing to the Walking Dead tv series. I do remember spider zombies could still crawl around on POIs at that time. I would hide in upstairs bathrooms in POIs at night listening to the spider zombies crawl around outside screeching.
The crawling and screeching of the spider zombie creeped me out. I enjoyed them trying to get up to the base to get you

A15 or so, I bought it for myself though I had been playing on my husband's account for a bit. He had started playing console with friends when that was released. Anyway, I really liked it, so got it for my account. I fell in love with it in A16, and actually was successful playing where, in A15, I had spent a lot of time dying to everything and getting frustrated. 16 was just more of what I was looking for. I hated A17 and didn't play much beyond deciding that I hated it, but oh wow... A18 came along and that's when I started introducing it to all my friends. Co-op play was just outstanding in A18. It was a LOOONG alpha, so I wound up trying out Darkness Falls for the first time and things began to get good. It's only gotten better though, I honestly spent most of my 9k hours in overhaul mods, or in the experimental versions. Oh yeah.. and I'm not what you'd call a 'normal' player, since I'll be 70 next year, and I'm a grandma. All my kids and grandkids play 7 Days, too.
The modders have made such an awesome community. Being able to try out a new mod with different gameplay styles is fun. That's awesome your kids/grandkids play! I know a lot of older players that are into 7 days. I love hearing stories like this

Alpha 9 after reading a Rock Paper Shotgun post about it. Kage848 was one of the first people I watched for tutorials and such, as he was always good about actually explaining what he was doing and why.
That's exactly how I started playing too. I watched his yt videos and other ytubers at the time in A9.

About 10 minutes ago after gettin a quick bite to eat and an ice cold Corona in my belly. 😉

Oh, you mean that first time. When it was first offered on Xbox under TellTale Games which I think was a version of A14 or A15, not sure, someone correct me if you know.

I was logging big-time hours in Minecraft when I noticed a friend playing this. Checked it out and never went back to Minecraft! Was faithfully playing the older version right up to the day when v1.0. was finally released for consoles.

Other than graphics how does it compare?

I ask because you have experienced a great gap between versions and are not sullied by the PC versions.

The graphics on The Series X are outstanding! The only drawback, in my opinion, is the horrible performance leading to stuttering, frame rate drops, and lag.

Granted that is NOT an exclusive 7 Days to Die issue. The Xbox hardware is woefully ill equipped to handle what this game is throwing at it. That's a Phil Spencer issue.

Even worse on the Series S. What some will not even acknowledge is that outside of playing the game itself, the console often experiences stuttering, frame rate drops just trying to load the Xbox Dashboard! Pretty sad. I'm just glad to be able to play what we have.

I am curious when did you first start playing 7 Days to Die? Was it way back during one of the early alphas, or did you just discover it recently?

For me, it's always fun to hear how people found the game, whether it was through friends, YouTube, Twitch, or just randomly on Steam. I love seeing the different stories and how the game has evolved for each of us over time.

What Alpha did you start playing 7 Days to Die? I started playing back in A9. Who remembers the crafting grid? 🤣
A buddy of mine that played World of Tanks with me, got me to playing this game. I bought it on steam back on 03/20/2019. Don't know what version that was back then. And then sometime later bought the legacy version on my PS4 (still have too, now on my PS5)

Yeah, I'll stick to my PS5 lol have friends at work with xbox's and they always complain about issues while playing different games.

A4
The earlier versions were more about survival and were much more fun and had ALOT more content...different meat types and individual weapon parts ......once the traders and Drones came in and console simplicity was added to the game....it really solidified the end of the survival /sandbox aspects of the game and the diversification of play..now its play the path we want you to play, how we want you to play
..imho

I purchased this game around A15 or A16, not sure when (I do know it was not earlier than this or later than this).

Before A15/16, I was playing a lot of Fort Zombie and was looking for a similar type of game. When I saw this on Steam, I instantly added it to my watch list as it was obviously in Early Alpha and wasn't ready to commit to an EA game yet. Glad I finally did it as I got over 4k hours in it and still enjoying it to this day.
