How to move forward

Not going to talk hate at all. I've just posted about how I think we can support further with optional purchases, https://community.thefunpimps.com/threads/how-to-get-more-of-my-money-the-right-way.44656/

Right now I think the Mod 'Rebirth's Purge' is possibly the closest thing to what the Devs were in the beginning hoping to aim for. And it makes the most sense. A story doesn't really do much in the current state of the game, where as a clear the zones ultimate mission does.

Why not keep the game as an open world sandbox do as your please survival? Get it good. And start a 7D2d 2 (Or whatever it would be called) based off the original game with all the elements and 'now' have an actual questing story line. Find the cure, find your family, kill the bad guy line of gameplay? New game could be build from the ground up in newer engines that will be more optimized to run then the current game's capabilities. Would I buy this again as a new game in a new engine and now for a story line? Yes, absolutely.

Just my 2 cents

TFP needs more money before they can make a 7DTD2 with like a UE5 or whatever engine Crimson Desert is using. Their current engine is so fk'd up that it takes a lot of RAM (possibly a souped up CPU as well) to handle 10K or above maps, that apparently even consoles can't get. Even though GTA6 map will have no problem working on current gen consoles, which will more than likely be bigger than 7 Day's maps.

Im pretty sure GTA 6 wont be voxel based though. And thats a big difference.
It's hard to say at this point in GTA6's development, although I can possibly see there being a certain level amount in environment and building destruction this time around, unlike GTA5.

Destruction is not all the same. You can recall the same Fallout 4, you build a ladder, attach a plate to the top, put a turret on the plate, remove the ladder, the plate with the turret levitate in the air.
GTA will not calculate the strength of the structure, here the strength is always calculated, and starting from the bedrock.

I've heard from a reliable source that Unity relies on scripting for many things developers normally hardcode. I gather much of the performance issues and FPS loss boil down to that. Ergo, manual and proximity triggers for many events, e.g. "surprise" attacks, and possibly even things as simple as a tree stump spawning a swarm of bees. TFP would know better than anyone the limitations they're working with under with Unity, but that's always been a problem with script-heavy mods, for example. Not seeing any discussion about that.
