Should there be separate PC and Console sections? (Again??)

Ok I am NOT a PC master race person. Nothing against console players. I have even wanted to try playing with mixed pc and consoles to see how well it worked.
AFAIR they used to be separate one time. The reason I think they should is sometimes I will read a comment on how someone wants to know if something is possible to do. I know there is a mod or a fix that can be used easily and I drop in a link to the mod or if is something really simple I just explain where they can edit an xml file.
Soon after I see a post saying they are on console and can't do what I just said.
So that is why I think they should be separate. Would be so much easier to try and help. If possible.
 
No need to make a distinction. Modifying files is not the most common thing mentioned, so the occasional bugs don't matter much. Most of the discussions are about both versions of the game.
 
I usually preface that I'm on Xbox with most tech related posts. For new threads you have the Topic/Heading for PC or Console.
 
When they were upgrading the forum, there was a lot of thought put into this. As it is currently, the OP has the option of prefacing the thread with the tag for PC or the console variants.

Right now the only real differences between the modern console and PC is some limitations in settings and the ability to mod.
 
Considering most console players posted in the PC section on the old forum, I don't think there's any value in separating them again. I still would like to see the forum have an option to add PC or Console (perhaps separating by console) to each person's profile and have it display with their names so it's easy to recognize if someone is on PC or console. They had been considering that, but nothing ever came of it.
