About "workstations requiring fuel" and more

Currently you can not just use a mod to accomplish any of this without a code rewrite and addition, but I do agree with you, allow it on the stove in vanilla. If they do that then THEY will have added the required code to make this feature work and mods can then use that logic for whatever they want to expand with.
I'm sure a mod can add electrical workstations. I think I've seen some in the past. I know I've added electrical options to other things in the game using only XML. Maybe workstations are more difficult, but mods can be made with DLLs that can do just about anything, so I'd say that it is possible for a mod to do this already. Maybe not, but I think the odds are good that it's possible.

Yep, exactly. The difference between xml and Harmony is like night and day. Tweaking xml doesn't even come close to what you can do with actual coding in c#.

Which is what I said in my post you quoted, that its possible but would be code related modding which not everyone possesses knowledge of and also breaks every time a point release is made. They are way more delicate than an xml mod and require constant upkeep.

I never said it was impossible, I know what is possible due to creating Ravenhearst. But you wont see that specific kind of mod on Nexus or somewhere.

I did wonder if that was you... Thankyou for your service....

With the amount of Chocolate Chips you're dishing out to everyone, seems you're a bit upset no one likes your idea. Now is that really reasonable? 🤔 *patiently waiting for an Oatmeal Raisin*

i personally dislike the mechanic of workstations generating heat for screamers , unlike firearm which logicly attracts zombies with loud noises! This is the part of bad gamedisign which shouldnt be added from the beginning

I think it makes a nice option to be able to turn them on or off, or even to do things like scale the importance of heat, etc.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is bad game design. Putting players in complicated and/or unanticipated situations is part of the job of the designer.

I started playing with some friends. It's been interesting to see their reaction to things. They want to kind of learn as they go, so I answer questions if they ask, but otherwise just try to help out with their priorities. Screamers were an issue. (A dozen Dew Collectors and putting stacks of wood on your forges and campfires so that they burn constantly will do that.) They asked for a suggestion and I said "I consider it an engineering challenge. You're preparing for horde night. Can't you prepare for screamers?" They put spikes out. Screamers are just killing themselves on the spikes.

By the way, I appreciate the cookie. Once I get a stack of cookies I'm hoping TFP will put some milk on the menu.
