Linux serverconfig options to lower server overhead

What options in the serverconfig file will affect the server as far as load goes

The webserver and telnet support are options that will eat up resources I know that.

Chunk age is anotehr along with SaveDataLimit are others

Airdrop frequency can be another.

How does dynamic mesh play into things with crossplay?

Max spawned zombies and animals are another couple of settings that could affect performance.

Max land claim blocks can be another point of resource consumption.

Chunk Age is just decreasing the size of the save. It isn't doing anything for performance. Neither is Airdrop frequency, or the webserver and telnet. Unless I suppose you are really far below the minimum spec required for hosting, both in RAM and CPU.

Dynamic mesh will use a bit more RAM, and will increase used storage a small amount.
Max Spawns are going to mostly affect CPU performance, and a slight bit of RAM. (Not a lot on the latter as that has been optimized considerably in the past couple of years.

LCB's isn't going to change more than a few bytes of code in storage. Literally less than the text of this post if you are operating under the supported server values.

It would probably be better to tell us what issues you are having, and provide a log file for analysis.

The server is borderline supported hardware wise. I have a 3.5ghz processor in it now and will be adding a second Monday. Then later I will be adding the fastest memory supported in that server in a few weeks. The processor upgrade from a 2.0 ghz unit was a marked improvement. And there is 26gb of ram on the box so memory is not an issue in amount perse.

I would also note that focusing on supporting older hardware better will get us a larger server player base environment. Just simple tweaks to lower overhead will allow poorer users to have access to make their own servers out of discarded pieces. We have to accept that the third and second world countries end up with our e waste and end up using it in may cases. In order to get more players we have to have more options to lower overhead or at least have the options more well documented.

And I am having some slight cooling issues in the spot where I have the server, but that is in process of getting addressed. I currently have two 4" heat exhaust ducts setup in the space
