Just looked at the steam store.. 45 bucks? really?
These people had a game several years ago, and I have said several times since, that they should have kept it, called it a game, and worked on part 2...
Jo-el runnin around on his ski-doo, takin pictures from the bust out another thousand a few years back.. the boys actin like they have no accountability now,
I was always the one in the youtubes, and here, defending it.. oh, it's like a whole new game.. haha, play it..
now i see DLC and 45 bucks.. it WAS fun, now we'll hold your hand, and don't meander off our path.
now I'm one of the ■■■■■■■■s that I used to run off.. great job, guys.
If you haven't gotten the point yet, which it seems Pebbles and Bam-Bam have not.. have yourselves a merry little roll-back, call it a game and do what the F ever on a new game.. instead ya lose your player base, old school fellas moving on..
Has anyone tried Vein? zombies and fighting sucks, but survival is kinda cool, and it's not 45$...

The game goes on sale quite often and for the amount of time you can spend playing 45$ isn't too bad. I actually have Vein added to my wishlist just never got around to actually getting it.

The fighting doesn´t just suck in vein it´s downright terrible and it looks terrible, That game has a very long way to go still, right now. But we will see.

$45-60 is what you'd expect for a complex and ambitious in scope and scale game like Elden Ring. This? 20 bucks, tops. Doesn't matter how much time you spend playing it. What matters is how much went into it and for a game that's already made almost 500 million dollars, not a lot has gone back into 7 Days. Just system and cosmetic makeovers mostly involving ripping out systems, e.g. the partially implemented gear-based biome survival system, in favor of icons and HUD messages. Not sure former systems weren't just placeholders. Not sure they even know how to design a complex gameplay system at this point.

Nothing substantial is changing about biome progression. Smoothies are being renamed and made injectables and stews instead; craftable "survival kits" will be icons to equip and unequip. It's merely being rethemed, iow. Best thing about the game is the POIs, imo.

At this point everyone here has likely purchased the game. I don't think it matters as much whether it's $45 or $30. Maybe if you wanted your friends to join is about the only thing I can presume.

The whole progression is changing though? It's not linear and you can go to any biome in any order. The badges make a lot more sense as do smoothies. Plus the issue with progression was largely immersion as if you didn't want it you could turn it off and with weather returning with storms then I think it will substantially be a better update.

Storms are getting dual phases to offer better immersion and more gameplay within.

The fantasy zombies are getting a TLC which is nice and the spawn rates will be adjusted which were also complaints I saw.

New coding will allow for dynamic quests in the future and we may be getting a variety of options such as degradation.

To me this is substantial. Plus you can always turn it off. Combine that with the fact that Laz has stated he wants to encourage players to not just quest with bandit hideouts in remnant POIs and I think it's gigantic leaps in the right direction.

Is it frustrating we lost so much time to get back to where we started? Sure. Can we do anything about that? No. So long as the developers are listening and working in our interests now, I can give them a pass on what mistakes were made in the past.

The game is very unique. Most games similar such as Humanitz, Dysmantle, Project Zomboid are top down genres with no terrain modification. Everything else is relative trash in comparison.

Didn't mention the other stuff. Some good changes are on the way. The biome effects and ways to offset, otoh, is just getting a facelift. Everyone was expecting the partially implemented gear-based system to be fully implemented as opposed to being replaced with recipes, icons and HUD messages. So, disappointment about that isn't likely to change.

They did say gear would return in the form of mods and clothing. Maybe I am misunderstanding.

Expectations involved more realistic things like gas masks and radiation suits which will be represented with icons instead. If clothing is making a comeback, it's likely for one reason only.

Why is anyone even concerned about the price? Pretty much anyone posting here already has the game. And even if they don't, it's a simple thing... you either think the game is worth the cost and buy it, or you don't think it is worth the cost and don't buy it. No one is forcing anyone to buy the game if they think it's not worth the cost. And if people are paying for the game at the current cost, then it is apparently an acceptable price for those people.

I'm not saying I'd end up paying full price for this game, but I wouldn't complain about the price either. I'd just not buy it unless it was on sale. But I do that with most games, regardless of cost.

It's an unfinished game and overpriced for what it is. That's not a complaint. It's an observation. TFP would probably sell way more copies were it reasonably priced for what it is. Once complete, I could see a price hike.

Okay... and? It is up to them what price to sell it for. If they find that they could make more money for less, then they may change it. If it's selling well at the current price, then there's nothing wrong with that. Why does it matter to anyone other than them? Who cares what they sell it for? You either consider the price acceptable and buy it, or you don't. You aren't forced to buy it. I don't go complaining about the price of a Lamborghini being really expensive for what is basically just a fancy looking car. To me, it's not worth the cost, so I'll never buy one. It isn't a difficult concept.

That is for the biome progression. They also talked about clothing and mods for temperature returning. Either way we get more realistic biome progression and temperature back.

I could care less if I can see it or not and lets be real when clothing was in the game it looked terrible - it's why we needed dyes. The only value clothing had in the game was that you could have pocket mods and that you got temperature buffs from it. Plus it made Savage Country worth looting early on. The aesthetics of clothing was the last concern I had when playing and that is at best, at worst it was a detriment to the game and sore on the eyes.

Of course, it wouldn't be with the new cosmetic system.
