Why remove all difficulties from game?

I don't know what happened to the real FUN Pimps and their game. Every new version gets more and more watered down... with nicer graphics though.

It's like they've been binge watching Zombieland for 4-5 years now and trying to recreate it here.
 
Yes, you're right about that. Soon it won't be a survival game at all.
If TFP really wanted to appeal to more players, they wouldn't be removing all survival elements in favor of producing a generic looter shooter (or worse), but would approach development in terms of modes, e.g. the hard-core mode of New Vegas or the Survival mode of FO4.

They've done the opposite because the game was originally a small scope, Kickstarter backed survival game.

If they'd picked some variables to classify as survival mode instead of stripping the game of survival and immersive elements, the community probably wouldn't be in turmoil today.

Is it still doable? Maybe.
