opinion - In solo - Available Trader Quests should be saved when you log off

I am playing solo and I had a choice of these quests at 2:00pm

Buried Supplies
Fetch Supplies
POI Infestation
Generator (Night only quest)

I was the most excited about the Generator quest as I have never done one solo yet and was well equipped to take it on.

I quickly did the fetch supplies quest and finished the POI Infestation by 20:00 and was ready to take the Generator (night only quest)

I logged off to do a few things, and when I reloaded all of the quests had refreshed. Pretty bummed, I was excited to do it, and it wasn't in the list that regenerated.

Is this a bug or a feature? I'd personally like the quests to stay the same until you either do them all in that day, or the trader reopens the following day.

It's a feature, not that I can offer an actual reason for it. I think they reset on every login, prolly just to not save extra data - if you end up in the same spot again, just relog a couple times to try ;)

ya if I could see the future that would solve quite a few problems wouldn't it...
Why do you need to see the future? I almost always grab the next quest when I turn one in, unless I plan to go to another trader. Then I also don't have to be stuck without a quest if the trader is closed. It just makes sense to do so. Unless you don't like seeing the explanation points on your compass.

But that doesn't mean they could just keep the quests the same when logging back in. However, it also solves problems. If all the quests I receive are night quests and it is 4am, I can log out and back in and I'll most likely have a day quest. The same if everything is buried treasure and you don't like doing those. So it has value the way it is now.

As a side note, if you are the host or in single player, you can use dm to reset quests. Enable dm and talk to the trader and the admin options are right there.

I suppose to be fair, a new player might assume the quest would fail of they took it and exited the game. Especially if they had played with other people. The way the game tells you that a shared quest "fails" when another player logs out could make someone think that.

I meant make it a habit. What did stop you from taking that quest when you finished the other quest? We always do it that way.
I was at my base dropping off loot before I took it and I had to leave my "real" house to run an errand. I just assumed it would be there.

I never do that because it feels like gaming the system, ie cheating.

Neither do I. But others do, and it is a valid option when they have is designed to allow it. Whether or not that is the reason or if it is something else, quests do reset, so it is always good to grab them if you plan on doing one. After all, why take another trip to the trader to get the quest later when you could just grab it when you are dropping off a quest?

The flip side of this is when they don't have any quest that you want, you can log off and log back on and they'll refresh and maybe you'll find something you want to do.
