@regiz72 Yeah the straight up terrible game that hits 60K players on peaks atm and is very often to be found in the top50 most played games on steam for years now.

Statistically speaking the game is doing better than it ever has so I guess we all enjoy pain. On a more serious note, the devs enjoy challenging us. Remember, the game is still being heavily updated and tweaked so whatever you dislike now could change/become better for you in the future

23rd place is a good result. Higher than Skyrim (93rd place).

Just to add to this the lead dev, Joel, a.k.a. Madmole is a big believer in the idea that nothing should be easy. He wants everything in the game to be challenging for the players. As an example that's why glass jars are no longer reusable. Water was trivial before this change. You usually had a ton of empty jars early on that you could fill at any water source.

The big irony is that people claim that A16 was peak but if you look at the player numbers it only goes up from there.

@Samcharles It still is trivial. There is so much murky water everywhere. And getting a dew collector isn´t exactly a challenge. And that´s the big problem with that change. I can live withoug jars, no problem. But the replacement is as easy as the jars, but makes no sense at all. It´s literally just a change of habits.

Much of the community has reached a point of bending around to seeing themselves in the mirror to when the devs fix legitimate bugs (ex. zombies not attacking hatches), they cry fowl. I'm genuinely convinced that if the model for the cotton plant was changed, they'll twist it around and all it oppression. Some are can never be pleased, so they use any form of change to raise their war banners.

In their defence at least, A17 was a very notable change in direction in the game's history. When such monumental changes are made (thinking back to Minecraft's combat update), it's always going to rupture the fanbase. Cautionary tale, if you will. So in a way, they're not wrong with their critiques, they just haven't yet come to terms with the fact that 'modern' 7 Days To Die has gone a complete personality shift (apparently for the better, if you look at the Steam numbers!) and won't be changing back.

Is this a joke? Water is still trivial. If anything they have made the game much easier when it comes to gathering food and water not to mention getting work stations. Between the magical restocking vending machines and traders no one should have problems with food or water.

Hell even getting better damage is better since you have to do is point skill points intk your attributes and damage perks and boom no problems fighting zombies especially with the sledgehammer or stun baton.

He has done nothing but dumb down the game and make it much much easier compared to previous alphas.

Joel (Madmole) isn't the only one who decides what goes in the game or not. There's also Richard and a bunch of DEVs and they discuss and decide together. One might want something, but maybe it gets voted down by the other ones.
It's silly to think that only one person makes all the decisions.

In many ways I agree with the IndigoDrop video. But like it or not, the Huenink brothers are making the game they want to make. As indie devs they have the right to do that.

To be frank, I don't think I have a lot in common with Madmole in regards to gaming or game design preferences. But there's no denying that the devs have gone FAR above and beyond other studios in letting us customize and tune the game to get the experience we want. If you don't like the direction they're taking THEIR game, then use the tools they've given you to reshape it into whatever you want. 7DTD is one of the most moddable games I've ever played, and that's probably 95% of why I bought it.

The vast majority of the things players wish hadn't been removed, or wish had been removed, or want tweaked or changed or nerfed or buffed in one way or another, can be done by modding. In fact, many of those mods already exist.

I wish people would spend less time ■■■■■ing and moaning about stuff that in many cases has ALREADY been fixed by someone.

Judging by the top few comment sections of the first video, it's a cesspool, and I would avoid commenting there (if I had been interested; I was not) based on that reason alone.

Critique is valid, and many people are coming from a place of deep passion and many a love for the game, but it gets to a point of chimpanzee ■■■■ flinging, a form of 'expression' now shared by ~95% of the online 7D2D community, with themselves justifying their anger "just because" and screech that any other form of verbal broadcast is a form of 'corporate boot licking' and 'sheeple behaviour'. They're just a bunch of angry toddlers who didn't get bottle and are throwing a fit over it. (Personally speaking, threatening someone over DM because they (I) happens to like the game isn't 'constructive criticism'. Gotta love humanity.) It's gotten to the point where iSyzen and his wife had to discontinue public 7D2D content outside of their YouTube memberships only program.
