Character Profile Traits

I've seen it a lot with other survival games, but character traits would be a fun addition to character profiles. Things like "High Metabolism" you heal faster but require more food and water (and its inverse), and other types of traits, perks with penalties to balance them, if you would. What do you all think? What would be some fun (and balanced) traits you would like to see?

Well, there is already a perk that heals you and consumes food/water. Not sure we need a duplicate of it. TFP has also been pretty focused on making all options available to all players. Having things locked because you chose a specific "class" type trait instead of a different one probably won't go over well with them. And a lot of people would hate it based on all the complaints about the perk trees requiring people to pick where to spend points even though you can get all the perks you want there. Being locked to you would probably enrage many of these players. ;)

Character traits would be cool. I know Project Zomboid does that as was mentioned, and so does Abiotic Factor.

The Pimps seem pretty dead set on classes though - I just wish we had actual classes instead of attribute "classes."

To retain some freedom though, they could be like Dark Souls classes or Abiotic Factor classes, where you start with a little boost to a few things, but can still build your character how you like.

I definitely understand where you're coming from, it's just that right now profiles are purely cosmetic and nothing else. It feels like it has a lot of potential and is otherwise under-utilized. Also, unless it's selected otherwise by the host, you can change your character profile whenever you jump into a game. It feels to me like more could be done to make that more than just a cosmetic.

I personally don't mind so long as it is done well. I enjoy RPG games where I have to choose a class and am restricted from other classes, so it's no problem for me. I even once made a suggestion here to add classes (just weak ones that don't impact overall play). But I also see the responses here and can't imagine it going over very well.
