Can we please have the button back that allows us to instantly jump to the first unread post in a thread? No clue why you would even get rid of that tbh.

Because it's different software with different features? There is a page listing that lets you jump to the latest offerings. Might want to click on that to get to the most recent unread posts.

It does that for me when I click the link of a thread. Starts exactly at the first unread post with a “new” icon.

It's per subject for me. There's a (tiny) list of pages on each sucject. I just click on that and get the latest post.

That's only when you're in the thread.
Like YourMirror said, when you're viewing a forum, the thread link will take you to the first unread. The link actually has /unread at the end if you haven't read it all.
I'd say this part is much improved over the previous forum, where unread would take you to the right page, but down at the bottom.

That wasn't a requirement in the OP, and my verbiage wasn't to mock, it was to highlight a funny. A button that matches the description is right on top of the post. Explained funnies are so much better.
And yes, the thread opening -functionality is probably familiar to anyone who has opened a thread, and already described by mirror. I didn't see a point in repeating that. Yet, now we both did.
