Super corn is lovely at night. Here's a picture

are seed drops at harvest better? I just cant be bothered to farm because the seed to plant ratio is so backwards.

With a single point in Living off the Land and wearing the Farmer Boots 👢 only, you get back a decent amount. I craft at least level 3 (yellow) Farmer Boots 👢 and get back at least 11 - 13 seeds from planting 25 Super Corn 🌽 seeds. I always seem to get back somewhere between half the seeds plus or minus 3 or 4.

see that is still backwards. you should never get less seeds than what you planted. if they want to restrict explosive garden growth turn up the growth cycle to be like a week, but to get less than 1 guaranteed seed per plant harvested is just stupid. once you start a farm it should be self sustaining as far as seeds go

it should be self sustaining
Should be and is are often very much at odds in modern society. Honestly, I think this is yet again part and parcel of larger industry trends. Vociferous players are always clamoring for "more stuff to do." Doesn't seem to matter what it is or whether or not it has any meaning within the context of a game. Nope. Just "more stuff to do." These are players just looking for infinite distractions as opposed to experiences from video games as I see it. Well, they're being accommodated and the rest of the player community is being disappointed with "stuff to do" being drawn out into this supposedly deep, rich thing (which it actually isn't) from enchanting armor pieces to stacking buffs. I call that convolution and in no way an improvement or evolution of any kind.

Same here with seeds. As the man said, you have to have points in Living Off the Land along with a "farmer outfit" to make gardening even remotely a reasonable affair. But having to do all that, you see, gives you..."stuff to do."

You don't need the Farmer boots, they help but aren't necessary. Once you learn how to make the seed, you become self-sufficient because you can also make seed from what you harvest. With one point in living off the land, you will eventually be able to make all the seeds. Sometimes I use most of what I harvest to make the seed that I need but I always have a few left over. Sometimes I use very little because I harvested more seed.

Suppose I harvest three corn and only get one seed. I'll take 10 corn, make two seeds, and plant three. The next harvest I might get two seeds. I'll turn 10 of them in to seed and plant four. Sometimes I don't get any seed and I only plant two corn but when that happens I generally loot an extra seed or two or I harvest supply in the world. Once I plant six of any plant, I very quickly get a surplus because out of six I'm always getting some seeds.

This this is a normal loot abundance and normal difficulty.
