Since there were tweaks to RWG in 2.x I was hoping it might have been fixed.

I think they're trying to fix it and perhaps ran out of time before the release and it wasn't considered a show stopper? That's me speculating; don't take it as fact.

Bandage cancels unless user waits longer for it to complete than feels right

This is still getting me clobbered. Can this be reeled-in ever more (back to Classic would be nice).
