Was pleased with the poi that takes you through air pockets in a cave. Was nice to see a hint that water and breathing could be relevant.

Alongside more of that, I'd like it if there were longer rivers and bridges, but crucially that encumbrance had a direct impact on your ability to stay afloat. Thus making water an obstacle, not an insurmountable one, but a more important landscape feature. Its always been a pet peeve of mine that character wearing platemail can perform backstroke with ease in games.

Vehicles of should cease to operate in water with the exception of any boat mechanics.

Even possibilities for breathing apparatus. Maybe firearm/melee limitations. Depend how deep you wanna go.

They used to. One of my most annoying memories of 7D2D was in A16 when I accidentally ran my fully loaded minibike into a river. Had to build a bunch of chests to hold all my loot, take the minibike apart, reassemble it, put all the loot back in it. It was a pain in the ■■■, and not fun.

That said, I avoid driving through water when I can, but sometimes I still accidentally do it (especially when I think I'm going through a POI that had a 1 foot deep pond behind it, and it's either a different POI, or they made the water deeper 😅)

I remember having to empty a vehicle or two that's got trapped. At least they don't get waterlogged and stop working for a day - realism does have its limits, but I do like to lean towards the realism where its possible.

I don't think I would want vehicles not working in water. Since I make my maps with Teragon, I actually do have long rivers and large lakes on my maps. If a bridge isn't nearby, I wouldn't want to have to drive multiple km out of my way rather than cross the river. And carrying a vehicle load of stuff over the river just so I can pick up the vehicle and carry it over isn't going to be any fun. Even if they added a raft vehicle to the game, unless you can drive a regular vehicle onto the raft and carry it across (currently, even if you get a vehicle onto another, it will not stay on when you move the bottom vehicle), then it's still a hassle because you have to move inventory in order to pick the vehicle up and so you can carry it. Doesn't sound enjoyable to me. In the same way, neither does not being able to swim if you have armor on or are encumbered. For the same reason... having to either go far out of your way to get across a river or else taking multiple trips to get your stuff across isn't fun. It also would make POI that make use of underwater areas not fun because you'd always have problems with inventory.

I am all for having some realism in games, but only when it is fun. If it makes things tedious, then I am not interested in realism. All I really care about regarding realism is that it can be realistic for the game. For example, I wouldn't want a game set it medieval times to let you drive a car around because it doesn't fit even remotely with the game. But something like ignoring weight doesn't bother me.

The solution I think would be more bridges, but sure I can see you point.
