2.0 Warrior Level - Day 2 evening - 2 Screamers?

If you stay in one area for a long time, especially if you are running campfires and forges and such, you are going to generate heat and get screamers. Try not staying in the place for extended periods of time and it won't be as bad, though you may still get them when returning to your base if you left things running. As mentioned, make use of spikes around the corners if your base. Those will kill them before they even scream, so long as you are inside and they can't see you.

A handy tip I use to deal with Screamers and Zeds early game and end game:

I lay down a row of wood spikes and stack a second row on top of it. I then place a 1 meter fence in front of the bottom row.

The fence forces them to jump over it and right into both sets of spikes. They jump every time. Been using it a while and it works wonderfully.

In case anyone doesn't know it, if you dig a hole or trench 1m deep and put spikes in it so they are flush with the ground, the zombies will path right over then as if they weren't there instead of going around, causing them to take damage. Also, zombies love to cut corners, so will walk right through spikes at the corners of your base if they are trying to go around the corner. Works very well.

Of course, I normally don't bother and just rub outside to kill them as soon as I hear them. Sprinting up to them and I can usually kill them with my spear before they scream. They die very easily.

I am on Day 10 and have yet to see a screamer yet. If you are constantly running campfires and forges and/or multiple dew collectors you will pull screamers. I've run campfires and forges as I have had the material to use them but they don't run non-stop.

(Assumption based on 1.4 way of things: ) Didn't see it mentioned, but for early heat generation, an important factor is looting metal shelves and breaking (some) metal blocks. Both cause a LOT of heat, and are easy to do early.. So if you don't want to risk it, postpone any "base cleanup" at least.

How's the stamina management with spears? I usually don't use spears because of the stamina requirements.
Until you get a couple of points in the spear perk, it is harder. But after that, you regen the stamina with each kill, so it isn't bad. I'll sometimes wait to upgrade to iron until I get to level 3 in the perk just to avoid the extra stamina loss, but not normally. Also, once you complete the book set, you get full stamina after each kill, making stamina a non-issue. Also, usually after the second point in the spear perk, I can kill zombies one-on-one using only power attacks without running out of stamina. With now than that, I just back up and let stamina refill and just make sure I knock down zombie without killing them to keep them off me instead of focusing on killing each one right away. Stick to head shots.

Once you get the timing down, you can usually fight without even being hit if you aren't fighting too many at once. And with the book to penetrate the zombies, you can kill multiple at I've in hallways or wherever. And don't forget you can attach through things like broken does.

I wouldn't call spears OP, but when you are good with them, they are easy

I may have to give them another try. I like the reach they have but always hated the stamina drain. Thx.
