Thinking ahead for 2.0 (possible issues for multiplayer?)

For the new biome progression we will need new items like radiated mushrooms and other things that spawn around the land, what happens when it's day 10 on a multiplayer server and everyone has picked all the radiated mushrooms and other stuff needed to progress through the biomes and new players join the server? how will players progress? and do these new essential items needed for biome progression respawn? I can just see some possible issues like that.

Maybe they should respawn.

waiting for that moment when player A) has been playing and has established moving to hazard biom and than his friend player B) gets off work to join him.
player B) clicks the wrong tab and joins friend in hazard biom on start will be a quick death

That would be funny 😂 But one of the devs on the devs stream did say you could only spawn near friends when in the green biome, the dev who was wearing the hat.

Hey, it might become a pvp tactic - get to the burnt biome, scorched earth the plants, camp the few you've left up... :)

Actually, I think they said you could spawn anywhere if you had the protection. So if you already had wasteland protection, you could spawn near a friend in the wasteland. But I may have misunderstood that.

Going to give you the same response I gave you on the Steam forum when you posted this over there.

The game is designed for 8-player co-op, and not 30+ player servers. If you can't share with your friends, then I'm not sure what the issue will be.
Those dedicated servers with high player counts could have issues if they aren't regularly maintaining the server. They are not playing in a supported use case though, so it isn't an issue the developer needs to worry about.

Well, 8 players at a time. It doesn't have to be the same 8 players. A dedicated server that has an 8 player limit likely has many more than that who play on it. How quickly do resources respawn? Only during chunk resets, I imagine. Would it be possible that people loot all of something like the mushrooms anywhere near a biome border just to annoy other players? Probably. TFP shouldn't worry about servers that aren't sticking to the 1-8 players at a time thing, but they should not use something that can so easily be used to hurt other players on a server, imo. Something as important as an item needed for biome hazards should either always respawn after a relatively short time, regardless of chunk respawn settings (which means not using mushrooms that can be used in food) or remove the gathering challenge so it isn't an issue
