I have to say that I had a lot of gripes and legitimate issues with alpha 17 when it launched, but as of now, I'm enjoying the whole of it a lot more with the tweaks made. I like the mods, vehicles, and improvements to farming the most.
-Stamina and player movement are absolutely horrible...
The motion sickness is real. Not for me, but the person I play with absolutely loves the game and can't stand over an hour. Minibike is out of the question for her now.
Opinions and 'known issues' different things. A bit misleading.
I realize that once you have access to better gear the night becomes more viable, but remembering early game (first week). If you can't take many hits, have ♥♥♥♥ stamina, and your only lighting option is a torch, would you still freely resource?
I'm up for any legitimate challenge, hell I've been playing perma-death on this game for years. If I get risky and die, have to start over. I am just taking in information right now, this has been really informative. I'm not alone!

I'm getting that players turn up the gamma, go stealth, skip the night altogether, or go about their business as usual. Hmm

Honest question. For me, in the early game there isn't much to do but crouch in the shadows and imagine a world in which I could be digging underground. Every time I put torches out bad things happen, and I haven't been lucky enough to loot a miner hat early in the last couple games.

I like the idea of long timers on learning more than the insta-knowledge a lot. I still think that having them at all cheapens the feel of the game and the progression system when tied to weapons specifically. I could see books that grant a skill level which indirectly slightly improves weapons...
