How do you spawn in a starter class book? One of my friends did not spawn in with one. I am not familiar with spawning things in so I am lost.

Hi guys quick question. I know that you need to invest into certain perks if you want to be able to craft higher tier weapons/armor, but what about pickaxes, shovels, etc? I'm a little confused on that.
