Just look at the steam charts. There hasn't been a spike at all. Hell, it hasn't even topped A21's player count.

Here's an objective opinion: 2.0 is less popular than both A21 and the 1.0 release. There are less players for 2.0 than in both of the aforementioned versions. 2.0 is also receiving a mixed recent review status due to these changes.

If I'm not wrong, I'm pretty sure the concept of Blood Moons was originally in the Kickstarter video for the base game.
