to make really sure nothing of your old installation is left on linux: sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda

Don't know the Lindows thing, but rm -rf / will of course work with root access.

Don't have a DOS promt. But when I try it says: $ format c:\ bash: format: command not found Must be missing something here ...
