Other than mining for shale, I really don't go to the desert much at all. Sure, there's the city on the Navezgane map, but there are so many other places to loot and you can get nearly every resource you need in/around just the green biome. That's not to say I don't explore the other biomes...

That might be true of most people, methinks.

For me it's not so much a tool, although anything iron is nice in the beginning, it's a place. I try to head right for the green biome. I don't feel I can get really settled in until I find the green biome. Everything else is pretty much secondary.

Then the cornmeal is meat filler, I suppose. Makes sense.
