What if our vehicles, like the motorcycle, started out as a normal motorcycle and then we would put the extra plating or spikes on through upgrades. Same for the truck and it's spikes. My suggestion stems from the desire of wanting a normal looking hot (like the original Duke's Hog) concept art...

Please change the dye system so that when you dye an item, maybe only the metal changes or the more defining access of the item. I think the whole item being dyed that color makes it look a tad goofy.

Is it possible that one of these is meant to give you heat resistance? We have a lot of cold resistance items in game I'm noticing so i was just curious as to if this was a bug.
