The purpose of the BM it's to challenge the player, you loot, mine, craft, and build stuff to survive the BM. Is not there to reward you with more stuff, the reward is survive it. If you don't enjoy it you can turn it off, is better than running all night.

i feel melee combat a bit inconsistent, while it seems work most of the time, i often get some misses with properly aimed blows

I like A17 in general, but i feel it a bit too combat focused right now. I enjoy the combat but with the current spawn system it seems i spend almost all my time doing just that. Im more the builder type, wich is an aspect of the game that im not finding satisfiyng so far.

While I think a penalty system is neccesary and i prefer this one over the old "wellness" penalty, the time reduction to only 30 mins and the increase of despawn time on the player's bag has more sense. Having to choose between get back your stuff quickly with reduced abilites or loose it...

I'm loving the new AI but I think the spawn system needs some adjustments. I started a new game last night in Navezgane, all default settings, cleared the area around a regular house next to a river in the pine forest, killled 3 zeds, i checked surroundings, it was clean, then entered the house...
