this sounds like you're assuming the mod launcher will always be there. from what i understand, that is made and supported by a user who has no obligation to keep it working if they choose to quit entirely.

Thing is, using Ravenhearst mod as an example, many mods have custom pois. can't have a generated world BEFORE the mod with custom pois is placed in, or those custom pois will never load/show up

If I'm remembering correctly, %appdata% and all its contents are also hidden. the average user/player is gonna have twice the trouble of locating, much less adding files, if they aren't admin user on their pc as well. 

See if you can free up more of that hard drive, if it's less than 50% free on that style, you can get degraded performance, also, look into increasing your ram if you can. Most of the folks I know running 8 gigs of ram have issues the longer the play session is. If you're using a NitroGen map...

I wonder if your pit is too deep for the reason they aren't falling in. At a certain point I think the AI would start thinking the fastest route is to just dig at an angle to you from where they spawn. I'm assuming your pit's shaft is 30+ blocks deep? I try to keep my pit shafts under 10, but...

I like the idea, but would personally invert the repair amounts vs repair kits. I don't find repair kits too often and like the fact that they're needed to repair everything tools, weapons and armor. It makes managing this resource (including crafting them) you always want to do on top of food...
