I'd remembered it being instant too. It's a moot point now as I finished the baseball books and now get the full recharge (similar to the Sledge books vylmen mentioned). I'm fairly sure it was doing nothing...certainly not giving +10 stamina per kill. Thanks folks.

The third level of Pummel Pete "Big Leauges" doesn't seem to be restoring the 10 points of stamina. Is it a slow, effect-over-time thing that I'm just not noticing, or is it really not working?
