Apparently... Iron and steel spears disappear when thrown too far. Was fixed twice!  😂

You can right click the game in steam and select properties, navigate to betas, and rollback your version to an old one from the drop menu. Ask me how to do that from any console commands though, and I'm afraid I can't help you.
