I had this issue a little over 2 weeks ago.
I could resolve it by deleting all my local save files and reload from the cloud.
I haven't run into any issues since.....🙄
That’s what I did. (Actually, I deleted all local save files. I accidentally deleted my profile everywhere on the legacy version once…. I learned from that….)
After that it took 2 times or so to load my saves from the cloud. Did get an error at first, but in the end I got a working game. Did...
I have no idea how you can tell if the cloud save is okay, but my guess is it’s only over written when you’re actually playing the game, or when you close down the game? This is what I did:
I had deleted my local save files on the Xbox.

But that’s the thing, I went through the whole EULA thing and couldn’t continue my game, as it was greyed out and I also had this console/input line box thingy. I didn’t try to start a new game, though…
Maybe I was lucky, but I was able to get my game save back, minus some game time.🤷🏻♂️
