I know that zombies can burrow down now....but is that only if they hear you? Or is it a magickal sixth sense at night whereby they can't detect you horizontally at 20 paces but have a sixth sense when you are underground?

Not at all. I was not "cheesing". I was making an underground crafting base, and then I use POI's or else fight the hordes on the streets. If the game mechanics allow me to go underground and stay there and the horde digs down then I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is they teleport...

I call bull♥♥♥♥. If I play "fair" and get crushed then I deserve it. If I play fair and the matrix spawns a horde from the multiverse out of nothing to do the same thing then it is a broken and bad mechanic.
