PC Unity planning on charging developers *by individual installation* in the near future.

I understand how you'd feel that way. However I think TFP has proven that they're dedicated to making this game happen so I think it'll be ok.

Because they're gonna go bankrupt. Not that this is going to help... But it's something to think about. How will Unity devs handle it when Unity goes down and they can't get support anymore?

Expenses. They're a horribly bloated company. For example if we look at Epic Games, they have around ~2200 employees (2022 est). Unity Software Inc however has roughly ~7700 employees (2022 est).

For all the data I could find, I didn't see a single quarter where Unity Software Inc didn't lose money. As I said in my post earlier with the link to net income charts, last year they were down almost 1 billion net income. They have good revenue but they always come out negative net income due...

What about Unity's financials? They were at -192.16M net income last quarter. Last year they lost almost a BILLION (-921.07M)! https://ycharts.com/companies/U/net_income How long can this go on? Shouldn't this data make Unity devs more nervous than the garbage price model change?

    PC A18 16K RWG map

So apparently system configuration made very little difference, I rolled a 16K world on my system with a 9900K and 32GB RAM and it took 167 minutes, 45 seconds... 4790K 16GB RAM - 158 minutes 48 seconds. 9900K 32GB RAM - 167 minutes, 45 seconds. Edit: Ooops, ran wrong generator, re-running...

    PC A18 16K RWG map

Oof, sorry man. Experimental gonna experimental I guess. Let me know if you try again and succeed. I'm interested how long it takes you to gen. - - - Updated - - - There are RWG issues with Radeon cards supposedly... I think if you have one you're gonna have to use the pregen random worlds...

    PC A18 16K RWG map

The box I'm generating on has 16GB, using about 11GB to generate. While generating Socket Data it was cranking on the 4790K 100% seems like it was the most intense part. Now sitting at ~15% Generating Wilderness POIs. I also have a box with 32GB and a 9900K available to test generation on, but...

    PC 16K Maps

Hmmm, does this imply that as servers have players run around and explore more, subsequent connections and loading on that server will take longer and longer?

    PC A17 RWG Benchmarking

Added data for b233. Load times seem significantly faster! Especially on 16x16k maps! b199 load: 4 minutes 31 seconds b233 load: 50 seconds

    PC A17 Agility - Why

Have you ever tried finding a 7 Days to Die zombie in real life? I've never found one. Lets remove them. :p Running backwards is indeed slower than running forwards (max speed), if anyone is curious, apparently approximately 69.8% of max forward running speed in one study...
