If zombies were to take damage from exposure to storms that would mean doing checks for indoor/outdoor (a geometry calculation) on every enemy instance continuously, including all the current spawns that the player has not yet encountered (the game doesn't know which ones you have seen or...
aye, pretty sure zomboids won't be taking damage from the elements, that would add another thing that the game would have to track, knocking performance downward. Meanwhile, zombies wrecking your stuff is highly likely, just guessing.
I do get what you are saying. However, with truly random generation you would get a map that is pretty much the same randomness everywhere you look. You could end up with an interesting juxtaposition here and there, but the overall map would generally feel quite homogeneous. Such a map...
Don't they always come back to try again after a while? That's what it has seemed like to me. They run away just to be more easily killed on the return. That has been my experience so far; an easy lunch that comes to find you.
Still, there may be some hidden issues that you might run into later or not. My old saved game ended up with some incorrect textures in some areas after one of the updates (the top panel of cloth curtains looked like galvanized metal texture in many POI).

I was wondering if they would become aggressive on my stuff while away, so I started shutting the door when I leave, LOL.
I previously had NEVER had Screamers show up at my base, now it is a regular occurrence.
Thanks for the reply.
I fully understand how the mistake could have been made; I just want it pointed out so that new players don't get confused about a door that is not solid in such a prominent location.

This door to the right is not able to be interacted with. The door does not open and attacks pass through it without the usual attack sound on Trader owned blocks.
Streamer impressions so far:
animals look to be extremely rare.
direct hits with arrow can still register as a miss
bow can still load invisible arrow that does no damage
