I crafted my anvil in the forge.  Day 32 or so and still looking for a beaker though.  I think there may be a pop a pills in town so will try there.

It would be better to make something special out of it.  Same stuff as quest-tier rewards just makes it boring IMO.    Thinking of immersion, what would you expect an air drop to provide, if this were an actual air drop in a zombie apocalypse?  Would the fire/flare attract some zombies ? 

I remember back in the day the zombies were so predictable you could use a bow with stone arrows, and headshot everything on every shot.  It was pretty boring and frankly with the bow and arrow you were more lethal with than a lot of other weapons.  So they got jiggly lol and now they seem to...

Yep it's doable, only way I play now is wasteland from the start, on insane mode.   I turn rain and wind off because it will start raining every day at some point. The first week is the hardest, but it's very doable.  I'm up to day 27 I think with no deaths.  Expect to die a lot at first but...
