PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

How do you compare them? If you're just looking at their stats, consider the ammo they're loaded with. I usually highlight one weapon and hover the mouse over the other; the game clearly shows the difference in stats, regardless of modifications or ammo.
A gun you find will always show base damage assuming it's loaded with regular ammo. In my case, I had slugs loaded into my level 4 so it showed the damage with the slug ammo vs the level 5 with the assumed regular ammo (base damage). I hope that's clear....

I know it matters @bdubyah but by that much? Slugs are the most powerful ammo type for the shotty but over 100 damage difference?

Shotguns with AP rounds are my favorite now, used to I refused to use shotguns, but awhile back, I ran out of rifle round, had a hand full of shotgun shells, made me a pipe shotgun, was completely blown away with how much damage you could do to the zeds.

It's because the comparison isn't taking the number of pellets from the normal ammo into account. So it's comparing one pellet versus one slug. That's why it's such a big difference. Here I'm comparing the Q4 to Q5 with both having normal ammo. The Q5 is slightly better:

But if I switch the Q4 to slugs:

And then finally both loaded with slugs:

Ok my bad I miss read it it was in the past they got a new terrain textures. Not now but I wounder due to the better team they could bring it back?
It may be a necessity because of using microsplat, in a txture2darray vs
the old expensive way which was texture atlas. Microsplat default is 32
textures I think. It can be expanded to 256, but with caveats.

Microsplat and the texture2darray have made it possible to render the terrain that is seen today.

Cuz i scared him off by asking too many questions

We're did you find this? With the beehives post they talked about this fall. And that's more of a 3.0 thing. I could be wrong tho
You are wrong. The beehives will be in a 2.X update (since they mentioned "this fall").
3.0 (which will include Bandits) is nowhere near being done and still has lots of work that remains. 3rd person is also supposed to be in a 2.X update (2.4, 2.5...).

@faatal even mentioned in an earlier reply to me that 3.0 would be next year as a lot of work remains to finish what they have planned for 2.X to be completed, hopefully before the end of this year.

Remember that all the extra work on changes that people wanted did push back some of the other features TFP was going to work on next.

A few questions:
Hive frame - more honey in cell, Honey extractor - increase speed collect honey
for what Bee Smoker?

Will there be special conditions for placing the hive?

Will there be a requirement:
- placement on Earth
- open-air placement
- the presence of flowers next to the hive (flowers just on the ground or flowers in farm plots)

Looking forward to the complaints about the implementation of jars. /s

The requirement of a crucible to craft jars ruins the immersion.
Having to fill up jars one at a time is really tedious. This is a game, not real life.
Jars requiring a crafting ingredient that can only be looted doesn’t make any sense. Everyone knows glass can be created through simple smelting, no special ingredients required!
Why can’t I collect water with empty cans from canned food? Am I supposed to believe that the character is eating the can too?

Very well explained. Crazy how much of a difference that is. Thanks for all the screenshots!

Idc im glad we got jars! It will make is rationing water for group so little bit harder
I’m happy for anyone who enjoys the new implementation of jars. I was just pointing out that: 1) the removal of jars was little more than a stalking horse for some negative Nellies, 2) some people will still be unhappy because it wasn’t implemented the way they wanted, and 3) some people are confusing nostalgia for engaging gameplay.
