PC What is your top 3 favorite POIs?

without a doubt the ostrich hotel...

oh do i remember when players actually had to get out and travel the map searching for calipers...

the Ostrich was a safety net for alot of things during that time of travel it had everything to survive and was generally found at that along travel roads between citys and towns.

yeah i would say the ostrich is my favorite prefab of all time.

The Crack A Book HQ is my favourite T5 POI because it is relatively compact and can be cleared relatively quickly. Most other T5s are either too crowded with zombies, like the Minotaur Theatre, or it takes more than a day to clear them.

The Wright Residence, or as I like to call it 'Wayne Manor', is my favourite T4 POI because of the large library and underground laboratory.

It's hard to choose between the T3 POIs. I think my two favourite T3 POIs are the Bear Den because of the zombie bears and the Señor Drogas Residence because of the bookshelves.

Crack A Book HQ, Tier 3 Crack A Book, Tier 2 Crack A Book.  Basically, unless it has a lot of books, most POIs aren't really worth the time to go into outside of very early game.  That's not a knock on the POI designers, it's just the reality of how the game systems work at this point.

I can't remember the name of it, but it's a mansion with a GIANT underground bunker. My friends and I called it the Scar Face mansion because it looks like it belongs to a Miami Drug lord.

  1. Honeysuckle Trailer Park -- aka trailer_park_01 - I admire the tight building constraints.
  2. The Greasy Spoon -- aka diner_01 - It was a memorable base on a memorable server.
  3. The Bath Residence -- aka trailer_02 - It was a memorable base on a memorable server.
  4. Pass-N-Gas Store #4 -- aka gas_station_06 - A base I have used many times; I like that the gate button works (up/down).

I'm going to throw in Voltralux's "KickFlipz Skate Shop" and Katspurr's take on "The Shining's" hotel that I'm not sure if she finished.

For vanilla, I enjoy the big prison because it just swarms you over and over, which is great.  I hope that isn't changing with these new crawl spaces.

The nursing home is really good.  And I have always liked the skyscrapers.

The Grover High is good, but it just completes way too quickly.  But it is still near the top of my list.

It is hard to pick lower tier POI since they are completed so quickly.  But there are some good ones that stand out from others, like the daycare with all the colors.

Basically, if a POI has a lot of zombies per swarm (within reason... I'm not talking about 1000+ your POI) or is unique and makes unique and interesting use of blocks and painting, them it is one I'll probably like more than others.

I'm sure there are other POI that stand out, but I always include a lot of custom POI so there is better variety, which makes it hard to pick out of just vanilla POI.  Plus, I don't really take time to rate POI.  I enjoy completing all of them.

These are five of my 10 spawn points; top floor, roof  and within empty apartments, and the belfry by the two buzzards.

Honorable Mentions

The parking garages because it can be multi fall back, and reminds me of zombie army horde mode map

Alpha 16 police station

I want to make note of 2 great sets of custom POI that are designed to be single groups of POI that stand out as being exceptional -- The airport mod from AH64_Jimbo and the mega mall mod from FluffyPanda.  Although they are multiple POI that are designed to be placed in a specific group layout, the combined effect of each is amazing and very detailed and well done.  There is a lot of creativity in both of those.

I suppose I should mention some POIs that I actually enjoy doing.

I enjoy the Karen Higashi Residence (even if I still don't know the proper way through it....)

The Pop 'n' Pills factory is probably my favorite (non-Crack a Book) Tier 5, just because it's large enough to take a while, but not so large as to be tedious (which is, I find, the case with the original T5s)

I think it's called Downtown Fire Station (I think it's a tier 4?  Maybe tier 3..) that's a very vertical fire station where you have to climb up a rope on the outside of the building at one point.  That one is pretty fun too, even if the first time I did it I thought you had to spin around to the outside of the rope and climb it to the top (which does not work well with the way ropes work in 7 Days.  I fell many times trying to do that the first time.)

Just a fun subjective thread.  What are your top 3 favorite POIs (Points of Interest) and why?  If you can't think of 3, 1 or 2 is fine as well.  I'll post one of my favorites after I get a chance to think on it a bit.  Have fun!

NAZEZGANE football field

The bear brother bar

The NAZEZGANE harbor due to being one of my first homes.

And the mewaw resistances

#1 Johnnytown - Nice living space in the main house and 150 farm plots (please remove the ability to use POI farm plots!)
#2 Dead Rooster - nice source of feathers and the roof is a great place to make a base
#3 Pass n Gas #9 - plenty of variety in loot and great place to call a base
#4 Spencer Mansion - (oh you meant vanilla POI's? ;) )

Actually a tough question because of the wide variety of angles a player could approach the question from.

Is it the best POI to loot? Is it the best POI to clear late game? Is it the best POI for an early or late game base? Is it just a favourite for POI ambiance or POI design?

In no particular order.

1) The Stand.  I appreciate the environmental and non-linear design and the effort to design in such a way. It's such a different experience from the "normal" dungeon running of a POI.  (Notwithstanding, the zombie spawning problems)

2) Bob's Cafe.  A good early game concrete base that's easy to expand (add levels).  Like FranticDan, The Dead Rooster would be a close second.

3) Any Fire Station.  Because reasons...

An Honourable mention to the tunnel POI in Navesgane.  It would be very nice if similar POIs existed and could be tiled into the RWG.

Update: An second honourable mention to the UFO POI!

1. Bob's Boars Carl's Corn (early game meat and Super)

2. Shotgun Messiah Shooting Range (lots of Rads and great loot)

3. Downtown Wasteland Biome (XP farm)

1. The Stand. With a large gap to second place. Ingenious idea and unique.

...

2. Dishong, because from time to time (i.e. once a year at max so I have forgotten details) I like to enter it again and feel like diving into a separate world for 2 in-game days. Probably it is mostly the size that does it, but it is also very well designed.

3. Difficult to pick a thiord place. Maybe that store where in the back there is a scene with a forklift having "forked" a zombie. One is able to decipher what happened.

Have you thought about (or even heard about) doing the Dishong Tower Challenge?

In the old Navezgane map, I like the House of Broken Dreams (forget exact name) for a base. It was near a Jen in the forest. There was open ground nearby that I cleared of trees and I eventually built a horde base there. There were a bunch of stores with concrete walls on one side. There's a tricky back entrace and I cut off the stairs and had my main base as my horde base to start.

More recently, I have enjoyed the modern houses, such as Jeffelon Zuckergates and the modern homes.

Currently hanging out in a Hangman's Retreat in forest b/c it's right near Rekt, but plan to build my own in the desert later. I like houses that have working indoor lights. Does that count as heat w/r/t screamers? A few runs ago I had a house that had a manual garage door that I could open and close.

One of the jails is good for an early tough POI because it has unlocked metal gates that you can close against the horde.

The Navezgane hospital has been a reliable source of cloth, for when you realize you have glue but lack duct tape.

The Mortician is a T4 that is relatively easy to navigate. It's also one of several that has a back entrance that you can open. You can return to the back entrance in later weeks.

Johnnytown was the first tough to navigate POI that I encountered and I respect it but I often avoid it.

Obviously the gun stores and gun ranges are good for ammo. The book stores for books. The Wright House for even more books.

@Laz Man

This is a question not additional pois. With the collapsing ceilings that you are walking across.

Is it possible the have some of the ceilings collapse forming a pathway?  As an example, In some of the

stronger pois, you have built a preset path of concrete and rebar angled to the next higher or lower level.

The reason why I was asking is because when playing, I thought about what kind of activity change it would

cause if you were on a roof or upper floor, with the zombies beneath, and instead of the floor just falling out

from under you flat, it fell creating a new path.
