FROM ROLAND (in Streamers weekend thread): It won’t be before noon CST. They will likely cook a new build with some additional fixes and then test it to make sure nothing broke and then release.
For some people this is practically saying they will get it on tuesday lol

When it's released on Steam, then you (and everybody else in the world) are all set. So, Monday, noon or later, CST time zone. Convert to whatever time zone you're in and... There you go.

Can't wait to play it, wish it was right now!!!

From watching the streams I can see why there is so much hate on the sledge turret. However whilst waiting for it to be fixed/balanced, I will just do some XML edits in the mean time to get it to a reasonably okay position to use. Hope the new guns work on release, they seem hella buggy on streams especially the models.

Les go JUNK SLEDGE BUUUFFFFS! Roland get your ignored butt in here and and elaborate rite nao

Sweeping a full 180 could be potentially kind of OP, or it could be a good way to make it more reasonably useful

I dunno, by the numbers we have it having 180 degree cone of fire would basically only be step one on "making it useful" rather than even getting remotely close to the realm of the Auto Shotgun OP. It does 14 damage . Lets not get crazy here by calling it OP lol. I already did the math on a previous post, it takes like 35 hits for it to even kill a 500 hp zombie, which is a dime a dozen  mid game and later (and the Junk Sledge doesn't even show up until Mid Game).

35 hits on a weapon that doesn't scale at all with int or the get attack sped from the junk skill takes a looong time to kill one zombie. Using that as your only defense on a horde night would take a freaking eternity to clear everything, even if you were 100% invulnerable and immune to the zombies getting you while the Junk Sledge beat their meat

Seems like people are forgetting to compare stuff to the other available options when talking about what's over powered.

Yeah, in my dream world a Junk build could place down 2 Junk Turrets and 2 Improved Junk Sledges That Actually Work™ and then hold a gun and use it  to help support the bunker, and it would clear a room decently well late game. That's like 45+ seconds of set up time and 4 things that require repair kits and mods etc.

Or

You could pull out an Auto Shotgun and toss a pipe bomb or three and clear the entire PoI / horde night in the time it takes the Junk build guy to set up and move his little bunker like twice.

Explosives are inarguably over powered and are 100% the main meta weapon for horde night, and Shotgun and M60 are beasts that outclass the rest of the gun options combined. SMG and Sniper are "okay niche weapons" but lets be real, in a real fight the Auto Shottie or M60 are what you go to unless you are playing a RP build by specifically gimping yourself and not using the big boyes, and there literally isn't a meta horde strategy that isn't just "throw a lot of molotovs and grenades while you Pew Pew with your m60 on anything that stands back up"

I don't think letting Int build be the "High set up time, planning, and investment, but safest payoff" option is that ridiculous. If the Junk build guy wants to spend 5 minutes setting up firing angles and bust out 16+  mods and 4 repair kits to kit out and field his little miniature bunker, then dance around trying to kite zombies back to his stationary bunker, let him. In the time he's doing that, you could have almost certainly just used a shotgun or AR and just killed the 10 zombies he's playing around with

At least in my opinion as a biased junk fanboy.

The only way Faatal could get cooler in my book is if he is a Junk Turret Enthusiast™ with an excel spreadsheet to min max the most efficient way to pour breakfast cereal into the bowl with minimal overflow. Become the hero of the weirdo playstyles and protect us from the run and gun players nerfing us!

We needed you as a guest Bouncer on every dev stream to just go "STOP ASKING THAT QUESTION, IT WAS ANSWERED 12 TIMES ALREADY".

I could see your eyebrow twitches of internal fury where your war of "Will I get in trouble for yelling at customers in front of my boss" was fighting the "WHY ARE YOU STILL ASKING ABOUT THE FREAKING CONSOLE" response

@Faatal

Ai pathing question. In a few of the streams I saw a constant
behavior. The border framing around windows, and the attic stairs
caused the AI to break off tracking the player, and pound on the
border, even though they, and the player can pass through it.

Is that intended, or a collider overlap problem?
Don’t know. I’d have too look at it.

whats a Thunk?
Definition: "Thunk"

1) When a person gets very excited about an idea they've had, to the point of, "6 h i t'ing bricks", then, when the idea is shared with others, they are not enthused and the 'brick' idea hits the floor, going "thunk".  (heh)

2) <common> ya'll ar a redneck an ain't talk likes no city slickers so whens yas noggin figurs somtin out, ya has a "thought".

   { to clarify, 'thunks' themselves are by no means common. The colloquial pronuciation is.  :biggrin1: }

i just thought he misspelled think. LMAO

Good Sunday Morning! How goes things with everyone, any stream suggestions? I watch Kage and Grumbul. I also watch Glock9, Cap00, and JaWoodle on YT.
Games4Kickz is another great content creator who also has access to A19 for the streamer weekend. I suggest you check him out. He's on both Twitch and YouTube.

@madmole

Been watching a lot of stream this weekend and looking forward to playing.

One thing that has caught my eye is zombies looking directly at you. Too directly. The body is ragdolling all over the place but the face remains pointed right at you. Is that intended or just something that has not been completed yet?
You mean like this? Yeah...

You mean like someone going on and on and on.......about junk sledge?

Thought would be the correct word and you ruined the joke. Good job! :(
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (4th ed.) describes it as a “nonstandard” past tense and past participle of the verb “think.”

Guys, have you seen the news?

A question about the +50 overeating/overdrinking mechanic in Alpha 19. Does it count down much faster before, or does it go down at the same rate as the rest of your food/drink? I've been watching some content creators and I'm confused on how it all works.

This is an interesting change. I might read a bit too much into it but is it simply for convenience regarding technical issues, or is this part of a bigger plan of moving the mid game towards cities ? I'm really hyped, as many are, for the new and slower early game; but while I haven't yet played A19 I can only assume the most optimal way to play will still be to set up shop between a trader and the closest big city. As such, this seems to be a pretty substantial life changer early game and I wonder if you have plans to make cities more dangerous to compensate.

Also, pretty happy about the way food/water works now, I remember we had a discussion about that in A18 and i'm glad this is becoming way more... "logical", especially for newer players.
It is just way easier to spawn traders in cities than in the wild, because cities are flattened out and can guarantee a spot where out in the wild the terrain is crazy and finding a spot big enough could be challenging.

Thematically I think it makes more sense than being out in the boonies anyway.
